"Henry" Shirt + Heritage Silk
The Form is a classic button-down with a band collar featuring hand-carved coconut buttons.
The Fiber is Heritage Silk. Like all of our Heritage Fabrics, the cloth used to make this garment is made entirely by hand. This elegant fabric made entirely of silk is patiently and meditatively woven together, thread by thread, on a wooden loom in Nepal.
Raw silk is as rare as it is beautiful. It’s wonderfully soft, thermally adaptive and resistant to essentially all pests. Raw silk differs from refined silk (like that predominantly found in South-East Asia) in that it is not refined which results in a less shiny, more organic look and feel.
The end result is stitched together by artisan tailors employed by an ethically run, small family business in the Kathmandu Valley with whom we have been working for years.
The “Henry” Shirt is also available in our Heritage Linen and our Heritage Silk/Cotton Blend.
Handmade in Nepal.
